Romelu Lukaku made his debut for the Red Devils in the 5-2 victory over LA Galaxy on Saturday evening and his performance has received mixed reviews from various fans.

Following a transfer saga which saw Chelsea nearly snatch the striker away in the nick of time, the 24-year-old completed his transfer move to Old Trafford last week.

Lukaku, who managed to score 25 goals in the Premier League last season, has already taken his place in Jose Mourinho’s team for the pre-season tour of the United States.

And most of us were finally given the opportunity to witness the towering frontman in action for the Red Devils against MLS giants Los Angeles Galaxy.

These are very, very early days and it would be insanely harsh to draw conclusions about the striker based on a random friendly in July.

Rivals fans who are pouring in the banter just because Mohamed Salah scored on his debut while Lukaku did not, know deep down inside their argument has little substance.

But if we are to analyse the Belgian striker’s display against LA Galaxy, it was rather an encouraging one, especially considering the fact that he has only been handed less than a week to gel with the team.

Lukaku’s movement was promising to watch; his pace and strength upfront opened up chances for himself and the likes of Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan as well.

That is a refreshing sight and you can judge for yourself how he did below.
