Manchester United boss Eric Ten Haag has been known to be in search of a new goalkeeper who is comfortable with the ball at his feet.

With David de Gea’s contract situation yet to be sorted out, it is appearing more likely than ever that the Spaniard could soon be replaced at Old Trafford.

Inter Milan shot-stopper Andre Onana has emerged as the prime target for Ten Haag, who previously worked with him at Ajax.

And now European football journalist Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Onana is indeed keen on a deal to join the Red Devils this summer.

“Andre Onana is one of the goalkeepers the club likes and from what I’m told, the favourite of Eric Ten Haag.” Romano claimed in his daily round-up

Per the journalist’s claim, United are poised for talks with Inter Milan over a transfer fee which could exceed 50 million euros.

“On the player’s side they have the greenlight, Onana will be open to joining Manchester United” Romano said

“He is happy at Inter but still open to joining United. So now it’s on United, they will have direct contacts with Inter to discuss the price tag of 50 to 55 million euros with potential add-ons.”

The Red Devils will be aiming to battle Manchester City for the title next season, if adequate reinforcements are made in the transfer market this summer.
