Manchester United have been long linked with Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, even before he made his move to the Spanish capital from Tottenham Hotspur.

Following Zinedine Zidane’s return to the Bernabeu, the rumours about Bale’s departure have resurfaced and United have again been touted as the Welshman’s next destination.

Speaking to the press ahead of the FA cup tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer refused to comment about Gareth Bale but revealed that he wants longevity along with quality in the players he wants to bring to Old Trafford in the summer.

Solksjaer was quoted saying “I can’t really comment on Gareth Bale or specific names because they’re property of other clubs.

“But we should look for quality players, definitely, and players who could improve us as a team.

“We’ve got to think about the longevity as well, who’s going to fit in personality-wise.”

Gareth Bale and Zinedine didn’t see eye-to-eye in the Frenchman’s previous spell at Real Madrid and with the Los Blancos linked to the likes of Eden Hazard and Christain Eriksen, Bale could be used to raise funds in the summer.

However, his massive £650,000 a week could prove to be a stumbling block for United who already have a headache with Alexis Sanchez’s wages at Old Trafford.
