United are ‘confident’ of completing $79.2million signing of South American
Manchester United are reportedly ‘confident’ of completing a deal to sign Chelsea star Willian as the attacker heads home following Brazil’s elimination from the World Cup, as per Metro’s report.
United manager Jose Mourinho is out to find more attacking quality in the transfer market ahead of another season which will see his side go head-to-head with Manchester City for the league crown.
The Red Devils are said to be locked in a two-way battle for Willian with La Liga champions Barcelona, as both clubs have offered $79.2million (£60million) for the Brazil international.
Willian previously vowed to focus on Brazil’s World Cup campaign before resolving his club future, but after his country’s defeat to Belgium in Russia, the Red Devils are said to have stepped up their efforts to recruit him.
The Chelsea player has spent the last five years at Stamford Bridge, winning the Premier League title twice and both domestic cups.
