Manchester United’s forgotten man, Matteo Darmian, is close to ending his spell at Old Trafford after his agent’s confirmation that talks are ongoing with Juventus for his transfer.

As per The Sun, Darmian’s agent is confident that his client will soon be making a return to his home country where he hopes to get more playing time after being frozen out at Old Trafford.

The defender was signed by Louis Van Gaal in the summer of 2015, and came into the Premier League as an unknown quantity before doing little to make a name for himself under Jose Mourinho.

Darmian has since received almost no consideration from the Portuguese manager and he is aware that the best thing to do is to quit Old Trafford.

He has been offered an escape route by a number of Italian clubs, but Juventus seem to be leading the race to sign him this summer.
